The only statement that has been done about "Classic" Matlab, involves
that it is MUCH inferior to their commercial product and that it must not
be confused with it. Since I have seen versions for DOS and Linux around,
I thought it would be absolutely normal to have it in FreeBSD. Although
the source code is available in a USA gov site, it is clearly not openly
available from MathWorks.
I actually compiled it (with a core dump), I don't know ... back when I
sent 3 copies of the code out, I suggested a binary-only distribution, but
perhaps the software itself ain't worth it (Octave, Rlab and surely Scilab
are very superior). I'll put the stuff back in the box where it came from.

Pedro.
