I (the maintainer and author of the port) don't want the -s switch to be turned on by default. The port is mainly intended for public FreeBSD mirror sites. It is important that such mirror sites get a perfectly accurate mirror before allowing the files to be fetched by the general public. The -s flag is risky and it is susceptible to the kinds of HW/SW problems that are common on newly configured machines. Because of that, I ask the mirror site maintainers to enable the -s option only after the mirror has been running stably for awhile without it. John -- John Polstra jdp@polstra.com John D.
