I'm confused.  You say that before 7.5.x, the splash screen just showed a
Mac Classic (actually, its a 128K Mac), but now it shows extensions going
across the bottom.  The splash screen display of extensions (and more
recently, control panels) has been around since about version 4.0.

What are you guys running?  I've got a 150 Mhz 604 chip on a Mac clone, and
it takes less than a minute to boot.
