I know that none of the rest of you ever take vacations :), but wouldn't a little fancy footwork with the "vacation" program do the trick? You could forward their mail through vacation to a dummy user that forwards it to /dev/null or something. The .vacation.msg might indicate that the user is unable to receive e-mail at that address.
