Hmm. Mgetty can use call-id to determinate the caller. But your modem and your telephone company have to support it. Otherwise you can set up ppp to check whether the login happened on the right device. PPP is such a tricky thing to set up: I used to use user ppp as well, but it didn't work flawlessly so I switched to kernel.
