That makes no sense to me. 802.11 is not ethernet. And since it's mandatory to use IPSec, SKIP or some other encapsulating security protocol for wireless (THANKS! IEEE!), these all reduce the advertised MTU size to upper layers to avoid frags. It would be nice if this reduced mtu size were 1500.
