Perhaps I didn't phrase it clearly enough :)

This code:

.if ${ARCH} == sparc64
BROKEN= blargh
.ensign

will allow a TRYBROKEN run on sparc64 to show any that have miraculously
fixed.  ONLY_FOR_ARCHS breaks that functionality.
