I've had another report of this too. Please type tr at the prompt and the send the traceback if you can, the other person that reported this said his system was unresponsive. Just to be clear, you said booting the old kernel did not help? ie you get the same thing if you boot the old kernel? Can you also try booting single user? (boot -s at the loader prompt).
