The problem is - after loading the os initially when we attempt to boot we see this message: cannot boot no os found. Sometimes the problem is intermittent - boots one time and then after a power failure (typically) fails to reboot with the above message. However on those machines with IDE controllers, we may boot freebsd from the ide disk and then mount the scsi drives. This confirms that freebsd was in fact installed. We have not been able to reliably boot from any Adaptec controlled SCSI drive running freebsd. Can you shed some light on this? Question 2) Take a look at the following diagram please: local LAN ---> freebsd PPP client ------------ freebsd PPP server ---> router -> T1 -> ISP leased line The PPP client machine always initiates the connection with the PPP server machine which is connected to the internet. PPP is run using the -alias option (on the client and server) however local LAN clients and the freebsd PPP client cannot see the ISP while the PPP server can. I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that the -alias option was supposed to address this problem. How can I get the local LAN clients to see the internet? Thanks for your time. Daniel C.
