I got that, I managed to fix it by including all 5 options into the kerenl config # For SMB support in the kernel options LIBICONV options LIBMCHAIN options NETSMB options NETSMBCRYPTO options SMBFS do this and an installkernel *after* having the smbfs port installed and it all works as expected. -pcf.
