Try reinstalling perl, but this time enable suidperl:
# cd /usr/ports/lang/perl5.8
# make install ENABLE_SUIDPERL=yes
or, portupgrade style:
# portupgrade -f lang/perl5.8 -m ENABLE_SUIDPERL=yes
