I'm trying to get a Megahertz X-jack ethernet card working. PAO recognises the card and sets it up. The symptoms are as follows: 1. Most of the time I can only reach hosts on the local segment. I have verified that everything is correct in ifconfig and I do have a default route setup. 2. When telneting to another host it is very slow. FTPing is impossible. 3. When I ping another site it starts out at about 1900ms ping times and each time it sends a ping the ping time decrements ~10ms. When it gets down to 10ms it then cycles back to ~1000ms. 64 bytes from 192.187.130.254: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=1840.543 64 bytes from 192.187.130.254: icmp_seq=1 ttl=255 time=1830.346 64 bytes from 192.187.130.254: icmp_seq=2 ttl=255 time=1820.230 64 bytes from 192.187.130.254: icmp_seq=3 ttl=255 time=1810.360 64 bytes from 192.187.130.254: icmp_seq=4 ttl=255 time=1800.172 64 bytes from 192.187.130.254: icmp_seq=5 ttl=255 time=1790.323 4. I cannot ping the laptop from any other host. 5. Sometimes the card will totally stop sending. When this happens the flag 'OACTIVE' shows up in ifconfig. This usually happens when I try to send or receive larger amounts of data. Here's what ifconfig says" sn0: flags=8843(UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST) mtu 1500 inet 192.187.130.193 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.187.130.255 ether 00:00:86:18:f7:85 I'm using the default pccard.conf setting for the card. io 0x240-0x2e0 0x300-0x360 irq 10 11 memory 0xc0000 96k Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. -- _ _ |_|_ |_| Duane Davis _ |_|_ Hostmaster |_| _|_| Network News Administrator |_| NETCOM Online Communication Services, Inc NETCOM Network Operations Center To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
