Yes - 8-pin DIN connectors are usally Mac Serial Cables.

I'm not sure how relavent this is, but there are RJ45->8pin DIN cables
availible.  Farallon (or shall I say Netopia) uses them for their hub's
management cable, but they are NOT in anyway to connect to a Ethernet
Network...
