Some remarks: This commit mixes content and code cleanup. Sorry for
that, but it was too much work to separate the diffs.

I have assigned new copyrights to The FreeBSD Project, Inc. I
understand that this is a mythical organization. What kind of legal
body do we have to assign our code to?

The coding style was inconsistent in the old sources, even within one
file (see tty.c for an example). I tried to follow what I saw as the
predominant style.
