I'm considering getting an HP Omnibook 800CT, which uses an ESS1888 "Soundblaster Compatible" sound chip and a NeoMagic NM2070 128-bit PCI video chip. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this unit? How good are these chips, and does FreeBSD recognize the floppy so installing it won't be a pain? I read somewhere that Linux required patches to work with the 600's floppy...
