Not having had my hands on a XP512 I can tell you that the Compaq arrays (HSG80 in SCSI-3 mode or the new HSV110) use type STORAGE ARRAY for LUN0 which is the LUN the config tools and some OS-es talk for configuration of the box. All LUNs !=0 are type DIRECT ACCESS.
