To: questions@freebsd.org Message-id: <387B8794.88819214@bezeqint.net.il> MIME-version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.08 [en] (X11; I; FreeBSD 3.3-RELEASE i386) Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I am currently fetching/building/installing GIMP via ports, and I noticed that the files always get fetched from the development servers (ftp.gimp.org, ftp.gnu.org, etc.). Now, there are hundreds of mirrors for these sites around the world... I was wondering why ports doesn't have a list of locations to get the source, which make would ping and pick the quickest. Something might be available that I missed, though :P Btw, I know I can download the files myself from a mirror, put them in the distfiles, and build, but it would be nice if make would do this automatically. -- Oren Sarig sarig@bezeqint.net.il To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
