            Bug ID: 199296
Summary: ports-mgmt/pkg: should disable "old" periodic scripts
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Many People
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: pkg@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: torsten.eichstaedt@web.de
             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(pkg@FreeBSD.org)
          Assignee: pkg@FreeBSD.org

pkg (install script or pkg2ng or 1st run) should disable the old periodic
scripts in /etc/periodic/* e.g. by deleting them or chmod'ing the executable
bit. One gets junk mails about old packages otherwise after switching to
pkgng. At least please include a hint in the pkg's message.
