You realize, I hope, that FreeBSD isn't going to jump to 2.8 the moment
it's released, anyhow.  Just like every other upgrade of gcc, there will
be a long waiting period, while the new gcc has all the bugs shaken out of
it.  I think last time it was about a year, wasn't it?
