Did you upgrade userland too, or did you try to cheese it by just ebuilding the kernel? This all points to libkvm being out of date, which ONLY happens on -CURRENT & -STABLE if you are tracking those releases, or if you upgrade the kernel source on a -RELEASE without upgrading the corresponding userland.
