If you read one comment in userconfig.c, why not read them all, or the message that you just quoted? PCI devices are shown purely and simply as a sop to users who might otherwise say "where is my 'xxx' PCI driver?" > Anyway, Pedro's (?) suggestion was to make it more obvious to the > innocent souls that PCI devices can and will be autoconfigured > reliably, so there's no need to mess with them. Unfortunately, it's a little difficult with the current userconfig to frob the help message on a per-device-type basis to remove the '[Del]' hint. You would need to move the specification of the message down a couple of layers to the point where a decision is made as to what sort of device is current. One might change the hint text about PCI devices, but then what was on the screen would be contradictory; at the moment, the fact that PCI devices can't be deleted seems to be no more contradictory 8) (Yes, I'll do something about this at some point.) > cheers, J"org -- ]] Mike Smith, Software Engineer msmith@gsoft.com.au [[ ]] Genesis Software genesis@gsoft.com.au [[ ]] High-speed data acquisition and (GSM mobile) 0411-222-496 [[ ]] realtime instrument control.
