CVS is not the same as CVSup. You will probably be better installing the cvsup-bin port (/usr/ports/net/cvsup-bin) rather than the cvsup port (/usr/ports/net/cvsup) as it is written in Modula3 and the latter needs to build the Modula3 libs. The former is a binary port (effectively a package).
