Subject: How to modify an existing user's setting?

It seems to me that we only have adduser and rmuser facility. What if I
want to modify the setting of an existing user? I know it is not
recommended. But now I want to change the default shell of root from csh
to tcsh. I certainly do not want to delete the root user first and add
root again (or can I do so?).

Thanks for any help.
