I think the 7.10 patch looks fine.  Yes, all of the commits are present in 7.10
already (including the fork tracing), so removing them all should be fine.

I started looking at the spurious SIGHUP (reproduced it locally as well)
yesterday but have not figured out the root cause.  I ran gdb under ktrace and
do not see any SIGHUPs delivered, so it certainly seems as if gdb is
misinterpreting an event.
