I have loaded Free BSD onto a partition on my hard drive (shared with MS DOS)
but after the process of installation I cannot get the system to boot.
I get the messages -
No/boot/loader
>>Free BSD/i386 BOOT
Default:0:ad(0,a)/kernel
boot:
No/kernel
I tried prompting with 1:wd(2,a)kernel
and - Dh and both were rejected.
I believe according to the manual on page 100 that
my ATAPI CD-ROM drive does not fit the expected specification.
It is a CD-224E and is 24 speed but I cannot find any other details about the IDE.
Any advice would be extremely appreciated - kind regards Kevin Fitzgerald.
