BTW, I did manage to find a copy of mcopy for fbsd 3.3, but it took me a day. Once I had it in hand and realized that I had no way to jamb it into the system that needed it, then I would have seen my problem with my own eyes, but as it turned out, that learning experience was denied to me. I sincerely hope that this doesn't wrankle you. I don't intend that and wouldn't have brought it up again.
