            Bug ID: 266427
Summary: sysutils/py-salt: support building with Python 3.10
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Some People
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: krion@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: paul@gromit.dlib.vt.edu

             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(krion@FreeBSD.org)

Salt 3005 ("Phosporous") release supports Python 3.10 but the current port
Makefile restricts Python versions to 3.6--3.9. Sysutils/py-salt will build
and run with Python 3.10 if the "USES=3D" line in the Makefile is changed to
"USES=3D cpe python:3.6-3.10". The port as it currently stands will not bu=
ild
when the default Python version is set to 3.10.
