> On my P3 @866 xorg and KDE never took more than 12 hours (no koffice). Might well be memory related. I don't remember how much memory that machine has, but it could be something ridiculous like 32 or 64MB. So maybe it swaps all the time (I wasn't watching it while it was compiling). - Bartosz
