Please don't top-post. In "man newsyslog.conf" there is a description "when" field. If you put a "1" in that field, the log will be rotated every hour. If you put a "3" in there, every three hours. If you want it at particular times, there are more complicated syntaxes for that field to do all kinds of fancier versions. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Giorgos Keramidas" <keramida@ceid.upatras.gr> > To: "Yavuz" <yavuz@mtm-medyatakip.com.tr> > Cc: <freebsd-questions@freebsd.org> > Sent: Tuesday, September 13, 2005 6:17 PM > Subject: Re: about newsyslog > > > > On 2005-09-13 18:09, Yavuz <yavuz@mtm-medyatakip.com.tr> wrote: > > > Hello > > > > > > I use FreeBSD5.3 > > > > > > I want to change maillog file more frequent. > > > As you know the file named maillog file changes once in a day. > > > There is a file named newsyslog.conf in /etc > > > How can I do change file named maillog everyhour with > /etc/newsyslog.conf ? > > > > By setting up the relevant line in your ``/etc/newsyslog.conf'' file: > > > > The format of this file is described in the manpage: > > > > % man newsyslog.conf > > > > If you do read the manpage and you still have questions, then it's > > either a bug of the manpage or something we can clarify on the list, > > so don't hesitate to ask again :-) > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-questions-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" > -- Lowell Gilbert, embedded/networking software engineer, Boston area http://be-well.ilk.org/~lowell/
