I have a storagetec 9730 tape library running off an adaptec3944 (I
appreciate this list is for 7xxx, but I think it is a general SCSI problem).
The cabling is as follows

aic3944-->>robotic arm at SCSI ID0 -->> DLT4000 at scsi ID 1.

The problem is that when I connect both devices at the same time, only the
DLT is seen. If I remove either device, the other works ok. There is
definitely no ID conflict, but something is causing this strange problem. I
don't think it is termination since the DLT is terminated properly, and even
so, the robotics is in the middle of the bus, so it would be seen.

Any ideas? Could parity or some other setting cause this problem?

Thanx
Tony.
