The following reply was made to PR kern/165418; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Mike Kaganski <mikekaganski@mail.ru> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, stefan.witzel@zvw.uni-goettingen.de Cc: Subject: Re: kern/165418: [xen] Problems mounting root filesystem from XENHVM Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2012 12:30:52 +1100 Hi, >I also tried to boot the XENHVM kernel after I replaced "ada0" by "ado" in /etc/fstab as suggested by Dave Scott >(http://dave.recoil.org) but also in this case the root device could not be mounted. The proper syntax is ad0, not ado. Seems like xenbus mapping hasn't yet followed the name change that FreeBSD has made (adX->adaX). Hopefully, when this will be fixed, there will be no need to make changes to fstab. By the way, the XENHVM config could be more optimized and exclude an awful lot of unneeded hardware that GENERIC includes (e.g. wireless or firewire, or many specific controllers). Best regards, Mike.
