I have previously tried to b/u my system with tar but encountered bad luck with tar and tape errors. I am starting to think that my tape drive is the one at fault. I am using an IOmega ditto 800 on /dev/ft0. Does freebsd support this drive? My kernel recognizes it at startup, but i encounter problems such as these: fdc0 input ready timeout, or output ready timeout.(usually in bold white type. I have my kernel configured correctly, i know this. Does any one have a suggestion for these timeouts???? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jeff Auerbach Cyber Warrior Inc.
