Please tell me what the work around for the following problem is (if others have already experienced it). While su'ed to root, mount -rt cd9660 /dev/cd0a /cdrom. Type /stand/sysinstall. Select option 9 to do post install configuration and press Enter. Select option 4 to select the installation media and press Enter. Select option 3 to use the /cdrom mount point and press Enter. Type in "/cdrom" and press Enter. Select option 8 to install packages. "Got INDEX..." message appears. Go to shells, select bash and press Enter. This works regardless of which packages or how many are selected, although the output differs slightly. Select Cancel from the Package Selection dialog. With a package that has a long description line, some of the package names display incorrectly. Press OK. An information dialog box "Adding packages/All/package.name" appears. It is overwritten by the message "Broken pipe" and the script (?) exits. Command echo no longer works after this (I cannot see what is typed). Thanks in advance.
