The problem seems to be the cardbus controller which is a O2Micro 6833 (according to O2Micro). It is a pin-compatible replacement for the 6832, but there must be some tiny differences. The patches supplied by Mathias and Nate for FreeBSD v2.2.6 went as far as the cardbus controller being recognised as an O2 Micro device, but that was about it. The Notebook does work with linux, nt, and win95, but i'd much rather prefer FreeBSD over any of the aforementioned.
