A hearty BINGO!  Of all the fool things I've done this year (well, no,
this wasn't the worst :-] ), well, it sure has been wasting some time.
I somehow added USERCONFIG_BOOT while under some chemical influence.
Thanks heartily; I never would have looked at the config file.
