I've been looking through questions and usenet, and haven't seen this one before, but I think it's a simple question. Every time I edit a file with the vi editor, and log out of my local host, the next time I log in, I always get the message from root (Nvi recovery program): On [date&time] the user peterv was editing a file named [xyz] on the machine [host.here.net], when it was saved for recovery. You can recover most, if not all, of the changes to this file using the -r option to vi: vi -r [xyz] --- ... where 'xyz' is the file I was editing. Any ideas what I can do to get rid of these annoying messages? I'll often get several if I worked on said file many times in a session. I'm using FreeBSD 3.1 Stable and IceWm for X-Windows. Thanks in advance! ===================================== Pete Vanderburgh Verio Web Hosting, Vienna, VA. peterv@verio.net ===================================== To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
