Thanks for the info.  I've got SpamAssassin and spamass-milter installed 
now, and the make went fine.  However, I'm getting this error on boot:


Starting standard daemons:
  inetd
  cron
  sshd
  sendmail
WARNING: Xspamassassin: local socket name /var/run/spamass-milter.sock 
missing


and this error when sendmail tries to run spamd:


Aug  5 16:38:03 lilbuddy spamd[11663]: info: setuid to root succeeded
Aug  5 16:38:03 lilbuddy spamd[11663]: Still running as root: user not 
specified, not found, or set to root.  Fall back to nobody.


I don't suppose you know what could have gone wrong there?  I followed the 
instructions in the spamass-milter port to a T.
