According to Luigi Rizzo: > > Really I am not particularly concerned with the PnP stuff, but at > times have the feeling that some positions are too conservative. Stability and reliability are critical to any OS worth its salt, and here we shine. The BSD flavors of Unix are at least as stable as anything in the commercial marketplace. At the same time, Luigi raises a key point about the inherent conservatism of *BSD. The more bleeding-edge code that we can have under development the better. These suites can be brought out of their alpha or pre- alpha directories when they have passed several months of heavy pounding. I'm upgrading a huge 386 tower to 6x86 with 5 or 6 gigs. Plan on putting on FBSD, of course, and perhaps even DOS/Win (*ugh*)... Also DebianLinux; it does more. gary kline
