 There have been changes made to acpica (in 2006). Now apm gives on 7.0:

 	Battery Status: high

 	Remaining battery life: 100%
 	Remaining battery time: unknown
 Resume timer: unknown
 Resume on ring indicator: disabled
 
 The patch and this PR is now obsolete for at least 6.3 and 7.0.
