Before anyone responds (but I do appreciate it) on the issues of "did you use the right options" etc ... I did already make sure that I used "-p -E" as specified by the patch files. When I did this twice (two precisely the same passes using the same tree in the same state with the same patch files) I got two different sets of errors. That is why I do not think this problem is specific to XFree86. Ern
