Um, I'm surprised that you think that way.  There is no controversy, I 
was just waiting for Bruce to get back to me.  (Which he did, I'm now
going to test it.)  I'll send it for one more round of reviews and
then commit it.

On a side note, when I posted the patch, I wasn't intending to commit
it anytime soon, it was merely a "FYI" kind of message.  Now it
appears that the only person not very happy with the patch is me.  Has
anyone (besides Bruce) actually taken a look at that one?  Don't
people have anything to say about the horrible hacks to kick the build
started on the temporary tree? ;)
