https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D208398 Bug ID: 208398 Summary: sysutils/smartmontools: split drive database into separate port Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Many People Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: amdmi3@FreeBSD.org CC: samm@os2.kiev.ua Flags: maintainer-feedback?(samm@os2.kiev.ua) CC: samm@os2.kiev.ua Created attachment 168787 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3D168787&action= =3Dedit Patch Smartmontools contain a device database (drivedb.h) which lists quirks such= as non-standard smart attributes for specific drives. While new version of smartmontools is released ~once a year, the database is update much more frequently (~once a month). Smartmontools unclude an utility (update-smart-drivedb) to update the database, but it's not compatible with ports system, as database will be overwritten when port/package is reinstal= led. So, I propose to move database into separate port, sysutils/smartmontools-drivedb, which will be updated independently and more frequently than smartmontools and provide an up to date drivedb. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
