My keyboard trouble was solved by switching away from an IBM keyboard to a Logitech (and now a Keytronic, when the Logitech died). I looked at the mouse driver code and it *appears* that the mouse is being initialized at boot, and from then on out the driver assumes that every N byte is the start of a new data packet - it doesn't do any sanity checking, or resetting if the mouse gets desyncronized. Unfortunately I have neither the time nor the talent to rewrite the mouse driver. One work around is to be very careful not to move the mouse while switching consoles - a pain, I admit. Another work around is to use a PS/2 to -> USB mouse/keyboard adapter. I use one for my Mac and it never gets confused. Lastly, if you just want to through money at the problem, an expensive KVM with dedicated emulation on each port will also keep it happy. -Lee Roberto Armenteros wrote: > > I have three pcs "FreeBSD 4.5, linux and windows" and > I use a KVM switch to control them.
