Wanted to tell you about the strange things, that can happen when you
forget the hostname etc next to localhost in /etc/host, tin didnt work
anymore, had to put the domain "invalid" into /etc/resolv.conf, but on the
live filesystem in FBSD 4.0 Cd 2, I see something, that I had overlooked
before and cant find in man hosts:

# This file should contain the addresses and aliases
# for local hosts that share this file.
#
#
127.0.0.1		localhost localhost.my.domain myname.my.domain

Well, this is important:                              ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Dont know what this is good for: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Anyway:

::1			localhost localhost.my.domain myname.my.domain

^^^

What is this ??? "::1", never seen it, is it DNS Syntax ?

H.

PS.: I have dynamic IP...
