You might want to save the jumper. If you ever put the drive on a SATA150 controller, you'll need it. 2. Be gentle it's easy to damage the plastic surrounding the jumper (been there, done that). I'm not sure how fussy Seagate are, but "case damage" may invalidate your warranty. -- ian j hart
