Please remove the games directory (if not empty) at deinstall time. We have several commercial games which install into PREFIX/games (because we can't make them comply to hier(7) and cluttering /usr/local with several games doesn't look nice). BTW.: It seems I introduced this bug in my last linux mega-patch. Please pass me the pointy hat (and if I missed it in some other commercial game ports too: pass me an axtra large one). Sorry, I don't have time to fix this yet until the next weekend (and maybe I don't have then too... :-( ). So please go ahead with fixing and don't wait for me.
