Looks like it ends up using the first icon theme it can find, which happens=
 to
be adwaita most probably, since it's a dependency of gtk3, and present on t=
he
system.

Simply removing the post-patch target is not a good solution.

I think I'll go with the patch I proposed chaging the default to
xfce-icons-elementary which is made for XFCE.
