Items of local interest have always been seen as appropriate for this and all other FreeBSD lists. Now maybe that only started because the "local interest" area was the USA, but the precedent has been set. In fact, we've enjoyed many disucssions relating specifically to what's going on in Canada, or Thailand, or on one day in one room in one suburb of one USA city. It's too late to stop now, even if we wanted to. 2. Americans and others will attend this conference, just as Australians attended USENIX (you know, that highly local event that speckled the lists for weeks a while ago). We seem to value community more than reducing the number of interactions. That's the way it is 'round here. 3. In Australia, and in other places where microsoft is not used, we read quoted email from the top to the bottom :-) 4.
