Our configuration is a Tyan MB, 2 Adaptec 2940UW's , 3 - 4.4 Gig Seagate ST34572W drives. OS is 3.0 current as of 05/15 and CAM-980513. The revision D cards work with no problem, but running bonnie or iozone with the Rev E cards produce the following (and a system crash): May 19 15:11:13 test6 /kernel: SEQADDR == 0x115 May 19 15:11:13 test6 /kernel: SSTAT1 == 0x13 May 19 15:11:13 test6 /kernel: (da2:ahc1:0:1:0): SCB 0x5f - timed out in dataout phase, SCSISIGI == 0xe6 May 19 15:11:13 test6 /kernel: SEQADDR == 0x115 May 19 15:11:13 test6 /kernel: SSTAT1 == 0x13 May 19 15:11:13 test6 /kernel: (da2:ahc1:0:1:0): SCB 0x6 - timed out in dataout phase, SCSISIGI == 0xe6 May 19 15:11:13 test6 /kernel: SEQADDR == 0x115 May 19 15:11:13 test6 /kernel: SSTAT1 == 0x13 May 19 15:11:13 test6 /kernel: (da2:ahc1:0:1:0): SCB 0x61 - timed out in dataout phase, SCSISIGI == 0xe6 May 19 15:11:14 test6 /kernel: SEQADDR == 0x115 May 19 15:11:14 test6 /kernel: SSTAT1 == 0x13 May 19 15:11:14 test6 /kernel: (da1:ahc1:0:0:0): no longer in timeout May 19 15:11:14 test6 /kernel: ahc1: Issued Channel A Bus Reset. 126 SCBs aborted May 19 15:11:14 test6 /kernel: (da1:ahc1:0:0:0): SCB 0x43 - timed out while idle, LASTPHASE == 0x1, SCSISIGI == 0x0 dmesg ahc0: rev 0x01 int a irq 9 on pci0.13.0 ahc0: aic7880 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs ahc1: rev 0x01 int a irq 10 on pci0.14.0 ahc1: aic7880 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs adv1 not found npx0 on motherboard npx0: INT 16 interface ccd0-3: Concatenated disk drivers da1 at ahc1 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 da1: Fixed Direct Access SCSI2 device da1: Serial Number JK41469003FDWY da1: 40.0MB/s transfers (20.0MHz, offset 8, 16bit), Tagged Queueing Enabled da1: 4340MB (8888924 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 553C) da0 at ahc0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 da0: Fixed Direct Access SCSI2 device da0: Serial Number JK44171206N0R7 da0: 40.0MB/s transfers (20.0MHz, offset 8, 16bit), Tagged Queueing Enabled da0: 4340MB (8888924 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 553C) da2 at ahc1 bus 0 target 1 lun 0 da2: Fixed Direct Access SCSI2 device da2: Serial Number JK38948706N0R6 da2: 40.0MB/s transfers (20.0MHz, offset 8, 16bit), Tagged Queueing Enabled da2: 4340MB (8888924 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 553C) CAM control pass0: generation: 4 index: 1 status: MORE da0: generation: 4 index: 2 status: LAST pass1: generation: 4 index: 1 status: MORE da1: generation: 4 index: 2 status: LAST pass2: generation: 4 index: 1 status: MORE da2: generation: 4 index: 2 status: LAST Greg -- Greg Rowe US WEST - !NTERACT Internet Services "To err is human, to really foul up requires the root password."
