With FreeBSD 3.2R, I have a bad situation which prevents the host from serving NFS. At boot time, I see: nfsd[xxx: can't register with udp Cannot register service: RPC: portmap timed out rpc.statd: unable to register (SM_PROG, SM_VERS, udp) Since I doubt that NFS is broken in 3.2, I suspect that perhaps some kernel config is missing, or perhaps something in /etc/rc.somewhere.
